Brazilian Mate tea green

This traditional, caffeine-rich beverage originates from Paraguay, southern Brazil, and Argentina. Made from the green leaves of a special holly plant, maté is renowned for its numerous health benefits, earning it the nickname “Beverage of the Gods” in South America.

For indigenous tribes, sharing maté from a single cup was a sacred ritual. Over time, it became the drink of choice for the Gauchos, the legendary South American cowboys, who enjoyed it by the campfire. Today, maté is a national favorite across the continent.

Its stimulating effect lasts longer than coffee. A short brewing time enhances its invigorating properties, while a longer steep creates a milder experience.
